A follow-up discussion of the heaven evolution from the earth (Based on surah Ya-Sin verse 36)

In surah Al-Haj verse 65, God says: God takes care of heaven not to fall into the earth. There would not be such a collapse unless God authorizes. We conclude that this phenomenon will occur when the time comes. On the other hand, according to few other verses we believe that heaven will be closed off, the other way around of its initial creation. Putting two and two together, one can think that heaven has been initially developed from the earth. The entire heaven emerged out of the earth. We would discuss that in more details in the following paragraphs.

If the heaven emerged out of the earth, then we need to find a corresponding Arabic word within the Quran. By analyzing different words, we attribute { نَبَتَ} to this manifestation ({ نَبَتَ} means grow). This word is mentioned in 23 verses in Quran. We realized that the verse 36 [Ya-Sin] is the most relevant section to our discussion: { سُبْحانَ الَّذي خَلَقَ الْأَزْواجَ كُلَّها مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ }. Exalted is He who created all pairs – from what the earth grows. Therefore, we can consider the heaven in this category that was developed from the earth as well. Another example in surah Qaf verse 7, { وَ أَلْقَيْنا فيها رَواسِيَ وَ أَنْبَتْنا فيها مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ}, we created everything in pairs from the earth. One of these pairs is heaven. God created heaven in pairs as well, in the forms of fume and material[JS1] .

Can the verse 36 [Ya-Sin] be attributed to heaven? By looking at the next verses, God then keeps addressing the uranology.  Verse 37 talks about the day and night. Verses ۳۸ – ۴۰ talk about the Sun and the Moon. Interestingly, after manifesting the growth of heaven from the earth, few examples should be presented. God indeed presents the Sun and the Moon as an indication of such phenomena. Does this discussion make sense? According to our previous arguments, can we put all these things together? Creation of heaven from the earth and then evolving to seven heavens, in pair? The latter (pair of heavens) needs to be clarified weather means “universe and limbo” or “fume and material”. This topic needs further discussion. Nevertheless, heaven has been developed from the earth in pair (e.g. male and female) and will eventually return to its origin (the earth). This the same cycle that God implements for all creations, including humans.

Growth of human from the earth

Regarding to the growing things (growables), God says: you (human) are grown from the earth. For example about Mary in surah Ali ‘Imran verse 37: {فَتَقَبَّلَها رَبُّها بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَ أَنْبَتَها نَباتاً حَسَناً}. God says: we caused her to grow in a good manner. It sounds that God talks about a plant. This is not the only case and there more similar cases in Quran. In few other verses, when God wants to talk about human, the word “grow” is used. As mentioned earlier there is one in verse 37 [Ali ‘Imran] which is about Mary. The other one is in surah Al-Hadid verse 20 or surah Noah verse 17 {وَ اللَّهُ أَنْبَتَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ نَباتاً}. Indeed, the attitude of God about human and the way that God talks about human is interesting. God says we made you grow from the earth, does seem to be very like the plant. There are at least these 3 verses that talk about the growing feature of human and some other verses indicate that God put this feature in everything; growing from the earth. On the other hand, we also know from Quran that God created everything in pairs, such as male and female. Can we put the creation of heaven in this context and attribute some of those verses to heaven?

Growth of heaven from earth and its return to earth

We essentially face a new category, when looking the way that Quran talks about the growth of heaven. If we accept the Big Bang theory, then the initial state would be the earth. The starting point was the earth and earth initiated the whole thing. This is like God’s tradition that everything is originated from the earth, including human. About human God says: we created you from the earth and will return you to the earth: {مِنْها خَلَقْناكُمْ وَ فيها نُعيدُكُمْ وَ مِنْها نُخْرِجُكُمْ تارَةً أُخْرى}; From the earth we created you, and into it we will return you, and from it we will extract you another time. Exactly the same approach for heaven is referred. Heaven at the beginning was emerged from the earth and eventually will return to the earth. We have discussed this previously that God takes care of heaven not to fall into the earth. There would not be such a collapse unless God authorizes. God will re-create heaven on the Day of Resurrection. It seems that the same approach that is mentioned about human in surah Taha is valid about heaven.

Three options on the origin of the “creation of pairs”

Let us look at the verse 36 [Ya-Sin] again and discuss this in more details. God says: {سُبْحانَ الَّذي خَلَقَ الْأَزْواجَ كُلَّها}; I created everything in pairs. God addresses this point in other verses too. And then Says: {مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ}; some of them are from what the earth grows. What are the examples of this categoty? Why does God even mention this in Quran? In fact, God has already discussed something and then indicates this class of creation as a conclusion. Therefore, we need to investigate early verses to find the examples. For instance, verse 33 [Ya-Sin] {وَ أَخْرَجْنا مِنْها حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ} refers to grains (and/or seeds), verse 34 talks about palm trees and grapevines. In verse 35, fruits and crops are in pairs and all are grown “from the earth”. So, verses 33 – ۳۵ are the examples of the first category.

For the second category, God says: {وَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ}; and some of them from themselves. What does this mean? The pair can be originated from the counterpart? In verse 37, God provides an example:               {وَ آيَةٌ لَهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهارَ}; God brings the day out from the night. Day and night are pair but God creates one from the other. It can be the other way around, however the mechanism is the same and not from the earth. So the second category is “from themselves”.

And what is the third class? {وَ مِمَّا لا يَعْلَمُونَ}; from which “they do not know”. How about the example of this group? It probably exists in the next verses. In verses 38 – ۴۰ [Ya-Sin], God talks about the Sun and the Moon. Can we consider these two as a pair? Similar to the day and night or plants? Yes, they can be considered as a pair, however their origin is different. Plants come from the earth, day and night come from each other but the origin of the Sun and the Moon are different.

It seems that the last category is not in agreement with the fact that everything is created from the earth. This is an interesting point and might rule out our earlier discussion. We concluded that God introduces a pair: the Sun and the Moon. But the origin of them is not revealed. “You do not know”. So the origin of this pair was not understandable at least to those people who lived 1400 years ago. Therefore, based on verse 36 [Ya-Sin] the origin of the Sun and the Moon has not been disclosed yet.

According to our earlier discussion, the Sun and the Moon should be from the earth too. But we later noticed that God says “you don’t know”. How would these two facts be consistent with each other? This inconsistency is not due to our absolute ignorance but because of the number of variables that we worked with. We will sort it out soon.

 [JS1]Shouldn’t be fume and limbo?
